can off the shelf LLM models predict prices?
Alpha Arena from @jay_azhang who I met at a @numerai meet up back in 2018 let’s LLMs trade and you can even read their thoughts!
their thoughts:
this inspired Numerai Signals user to start uploading signals on every stock in our universe from every LLM model. these models run live searches on every stock and use that to build a signal and they are just getting started submitting.
one of the plus sides of Numerai Signals is the large breadth of ~6000 stocks and large breadth of signals to compare against. A few days of trading a few cryptos on @the_nof1’s Alpha Arena may not be statistically significant or uncorrelated with traditional signals like short term momentum but doing well on Numerai Signals would be a stronger test on true signal value.
