.@Rahatcodes and I are going to be on-the-ground and unapologetically shilling Move at an Ethereum conference. Why? It’s no doubt that the EVM is still winning when it comes to mindshare. The majority of new L1s and L2s are still EVM chains. The majority of DeFi TVL is on EVM chains. The greatest number of developers in web3 are on EVM chains. The list goes on. So why are we so persistent in spreading Move? The biggest feature, in my opinion, is its safety. As web3 becomes more and more popular, and we see more and more net new apps enter the space, we need there to be a programming language that prevents new and inexperienced devs from shooting themselves in the foot. Move has inherent safety checks that unfortunately do not exist in Solidity, such as re-entrancy attacks, which have been the main culprit of over billions of dollars lost due to hacks. I truly believe if Ethereum had started out with Move instead of Solidity our industry would be 10 years ahead where we are today. We cannot change the past, but we can at least try to change the future. Gmove to those who celebrate.
